Facility, Space And Units

  • Can I store a vehicle inside a unit?

    Yes, you can store a vehicle inside a unit. For vehicles that might leak fluids, we ask that you put down a catch pan, so the concrete does not get stained.

  • Is electricity provided inside the units?

    Electricity is not provided. The driveways are well lit at night. If you need light inside the unit, we recommend rechargeable LED lights. Many units, but not all, have steel walls and a magnetic backed led light can stick to the walls and provide light.

  • What are the gate access hours?

    The gate access hours are 6am to 10pm every day of the year.

  • Can I change units later if I need more or less space?

    Yes, you can do a transfer to a larger or smaller unit and we can prorate you out of the one unit and into the other unit, so you won't lose any funds. To get the proration, we ask that you complete the transfer within 48 hours. Alternatively, you can rent the new unit and give notice to quit on the old unit. This way you can have more time to complete the move, however, there would be no transfer of prorated funds and you'd essentially be paying for both units until the old rental contract terminates.

  • Are there items that cannot be stored in a unit?

    You may not store any items that are explosive, flammable, odorous, hazardous, corrosive, perishable or alive. These items can include food, drinks, fireworks, propane tanks, chemicals, animals, plants, etc. If you think you have an item that is prohibited but are unsure, please contact the office for clarification.

  • Where can I buy boxes and moving supplies?

    Boxes and moving supplies are only sold at the Longmont Storage location at 3026 Nelson Rd. We have boxes, tape, tape guns, mattress bags, bubble wrap, movers wrap, wrapping paper, packing peanuts, dish packs, glass packs, dish barrels boxes with cell kits, moving blankets regular and quilted, vacuum bags, wardrobe boxes, mirror/picture boxes, lamp boxes, sport utility boxes, rope, ratchet straps, mover rubber bands, trailer hitch receivers and tow balls, hitch light adapters, tow receiver locking pins, rope, twine, bungee cords, tarps, oversized wheel straps, wine shipping boxes, guitar boxes, shipping tubes, TV boxes, padlocks, disc locks, furniture covers, floor covers, carpet protectors, shoe covers, TV screen cover, picture protectors and more. Stop by or shop online and we'll have get your order ready for pick up.

  • Where can I rent a Uhaul?

    The S Lincoln St and Mountain View Ave locations do not rent Uhaul trucks.

    Uhaul trucks can be rented at the following locations:

    • 7579 Hygiene Rd
    • 1545 Main St
    • 820 Lashley St

    Uhaul trailers and tow equipment are only available at 3026 Nelson Rd

Reserving A Unit And Moving In

  • Is there a contract or is it just month to month?

    We get this question a lot and the answer is both. Customers will sign a month to month contract and the minimum rental period is one month.

  • What is the minimum rental period?

    All contracts are month to month. Therefore, the minimum rental period is one month.

  • Is rent prorated at the time of move-in or move out?

    No, the renewal date is specified on the contract and is typcally the same day every month and each rental period is one month. Therefore, rent will not be prorated.

  • Do I need to bring a lock or will one be provided?

    Locks are not provided. You can bring one of your own or purchase one at the store at 3026 Nelson Rd. Any standard padlock will work, however, we recommend the disc or circular style lock.

Managing My Account

  • How much notice is needed to cancel the contract?

    The rental contract will automatically renew each month unless a written notice to terminate is provided no less than 5 days prior to the end of the current month.

  • What are the payment options?

    The easiest option is to go on autopay and have either a credit/debit card or checking account debited each month on the due date. Alternatively, you can pay online at "Pay My Bill" tab or through your Uhaul account. Of course, you can also mail checks or money orders, put them in the drop boxes at each facility or stop by the main office at 3026 Nelson Rd. Cash payments are only accepted at the 3026 Nelson Rd office during regular business hours.

  • What types of payments do you accept?

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Check, Money Order, Electronic Check, and Cash. Cash is only accepted at 3026 Nelson Rd during regular business hours.

  • Is insurance required?

    No, you can add insurance, but it's not required.

  • What are the tenant insurance options?

    There are four choices of Safestor coverage we offer to our storage customers.

Access Hours
